[Xbox Live] Microsoft is to improve chat quality

This is glorious news! Because of the upcoming Kinect, Microsoft is planning on upgrading the 360’s codec and audio infastructure, making for [hopefully] clearer chat sessions when playing online. According to Live Studios’ Jerry Johnson,

I was happy about this as sometimes the audio can get choppy and cut out when games are loading and such. Be interesting to see exactly how improved it becomes.

If this happens perhaps I'll use my mic more. I always hated playing games and people sounding real low and when they talk the audio cuts in and out.

Sometimes using party chat prevents the audio cutting in and out while games are loading but if your a more sociable gamer then that wont help much.
