[UPDATE] Skyrim: 1 Disc for Xbox, New Video Interview

With the way some big games have been lately, it's understandable many would fear that Skyrim would span multiple discs on the Xbox 360. However during the 2011 PAX Prime event, the guys over at Destructoid had a word with the art director Matt Carofano from Bethesda on how many discs the juggernaut title would sit on. Thankfully, it's been confirmed only one disc will hold everything, but that leaves the question of just how much serious compression had to be done to things such as sound & texture quality.​

The Elder Scrolls series doesnt use that many fancy FMV sequences and most things are done with the in-game engine so that will save plenty of space rather than games that rely on them such as the Final Fantasy series. Regular DVDs can have plenty of audio compression and such without diminishing quality at all and Oblivion and Morrowind managed it just fine.
